Code of Conduct

December 23-28, 2025

As an attendee, it is important that you know what personal conduct is expected of you while attending this event. In most instances, we entrust your own good judgment will tell you what the right thing to do is.

While discipline for standard violations will follow a progressive disciplinary procedure, the Department responsible for this event reserves the right to implement discipline in accordance with the severity of the violation.

I. Speech

  • “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” Ephesians 4:29

  • We will not tolerate hate speech, inappropriate language, and cursing. Additionally, we do not condone promoting/propagating doctrines that do not align with those of the Seventh-Day Adventist Reform Movement’s fundamental beliefs.

If you choose to commit a violation such as the ones listed above, you may run the risk of potentially being removed from the premises and sent home. Our goal is to foster an environment that is uplifting and respectful to all our attendees.

II. Act

  • "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

  • We will not tolerate acts of violence, harassment, inappropriate behavior, inappropriate behavior between male and female attendees, and disrespectful attitudes directed to our pastors and fellow brothers/sisters in Christ.

If you choose to commit a violation such as the ones listed above, you may run the risk of being removed from the premises and sent home. Our goal is to draw closer to Christ during this event and make sure that our attendees are also able to do so in a safe manner.

III. Dress

  • "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” 1 Corinthians 6:19

  • We kindly ask that all participants (male and female) dress appropriately during this event. This retreat is taking place in December; as such please pack and plan to wear warm clothing that will be comfortable and healthful to you.

IV. Attendance

  • “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

  • We hope that all our attendees will attend each of the meetings and activities to fellowship with others, gain a blessing, and form a closer connection with Christ. Some of you have been sent by your parents to this event for that specific purpose.

As such, if we find that you have been evading meetings and activities purposefully AND encouraging others to skip meetings and activities as well, your parent(s) will be notified and you may risk being sent home.

Purpose

The Roanoke Youth Department hopes you understand our efforts to create a safe and fruitful environment for all our attendees during this spiritual event. We are confident that everyone attending will be a great blessing and that this code of conduct should only serve as a reminder.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
